I recently bought a new mattress but did not bother getting a new boxspring. I'm experiencing a dip in my new mattress and am wondering if maybe my boxspring is "done" or if I'm just not used to the pilowtop on the new mattress. Any suggestions?

Just got a new house, however the master bath has light pink tile countertops. Any suggestions on what colors would be good to calm this down, accent it, or...? Any websites I can look at to help?

I think these tiles are aluminum (they look like brushed stainless steel). They are about 4"x4", picked up from a home improvement store. A few tiles need to be cut in half to fit into the wall space above the stovetop, but so far none of the tactics my cousin has used has cut them successfully. The man who lived in the house before had successfully tiled a section using these exact tiles, some of which he did cut in half (although the tile cuts are not straight and so appear to have been done by hand).

Any ideas from some experienced tilers out there? Thanks so much!

What I'd really like to do is paint my hall a deep golden yellow and the living area and recessed dining niche an even deeper shade of yellow. Problem is I'm confused with all the shades available, some look great others too dull, I'm afraid I'm going to choose one which looks great on paper but end up looking hideous on my walls..I also heard of a shade called 'honey yellow' havent seen it anywhere though. I have a lot of potted plants and plenty of windows, so the mood I want to create is of a soft shaded garden...HELP!!

I can't get the tiles off of my bathroom walls and have bee advised to tile over the ones I have. My only concern is that the gap from the wall to the top of the tile will be really noticible? (Tiles go half way up the wall at the sink and is therefore just under eye level). Will this be really noticible? Anyone done this? Any tips? Help!

Can you exceed the building regulations which state the rise of a stairway should be 42% when converting a barn into a two storey holiday accomodation and replacing the ladder to the upper floor with a new staircase. Space is restricted. Also when a certificate of completion of building has been issued, does that imply that all building work carried out within the property in question conforms to building regulations.

Someone I've casually dated for a few weeks is finally coming over to my place tomorrow night. I want my apartment to look presentable and nice. Besides the usual cleaning/sleeping, is there a quick way to "revamp" my place to look classy & cozy at the same time? In a short amount of time? Thanks
