I think when its darker with little lights here and there, it always looks nicer. So since christmas is coming, try puttin up some x-mas lights around, in a fire place? - around another light, it actually looks good, i just did it - [white or gold] Then candles always make a place look & smell good.

Make sure it is nice and clean. Make your sinks and bathroom fixtures sparkle.
Get some flowers for a table, get a nice scent, maybe some particularly nice placemats (two). A couple of nice plants are always nice. A couple of bright potholders from a magnetic hook on the refrigerator can add color. Have a stack of clean towels, new roll of tissue, and other bathroom basics in place; so it looks like the person who lives there has whatever a guest may want/need in the bathroom. A bowl of pears, apples, or grapes on the counter or out on a coffee table is nice. So is leaving something basic and all-purpose to read (coffee table or end table) in case you leave the person alone in the living room for a few minutes.
Arrange the lighting in a way that makes it most flattering to your house. Arrange curtains/drapes in a way that make it most flattering. If you have a nice little tablecloth for your table that's cozy and/or elegant and nice.

Flowers make a big difference in a room. Also, for a cozy feel, try putting a frozen pie in the oven, the smell really makes a person feel at home. Lights too set an ambience in the home. If you have dimmers use them, if not candles light is always nice. Make sure the bathroom is spotless, with clean towels hanging (not those fancy one either). A throw on the couch or chair to snuggle up in and after that just make sure you've dusted and that everything is in it's proper place.

If the place is cleaned up to the best of your abilities try a few plant, a fire (if you have a fire place), but most important is to eliminate cluter.
If these things are taken care of think to yourself, what do YOU notice first when you walk into someones pad for the first time? Answer. The smell. Even if your place doesn't smell bad, it can always smell better, without having to smell like air freshener, or perfume. My favorite thing to do with limited time is to bake up a sheet of chocolate chip cookies. As I'm sure you know you can get them from any grocery store pre-made in the tube. All you do is cut'em and bake'em. And hey, who doesn't like chocolate chip cookies. Plus it will make you look all that more domestic, if that's what your going for.

listed the following are some suggestions: Take the lightbuld out contained in the bathing room, all people employing it ought to have a dreadful time. bedroom: get something that resembles a headstone and lay it on the mattress (like from that scene from Halloween?) and shop the homestead windows huge open, with somewhat of luck a chilly evening will fill the room. Kitchen. you want a flickering mild (evade candles, do not favor to really create a horror scene now can we!!) and smear the floor with ketchup or something similar yet contained in the kind as if something has been dragged alongside.........open the homestead windows to allow the chilliness go with the help of. The livingroom: splatter a number of that pink sauce up the wall, yet keep in mind blood rather does splatter so do not over do it. homestead windows...huge open. dimmed lighting fixtures fixtures. perhaps you will get a CD or create one with faint yet unusal noises.
