Use a putty knife and dip it in the spackle/drywall mud can and apply. Wait a few hours and sand, and apply the second coat, if necessary, than paint.

Sanded grout is used on the floor inbetween tile. It is grout that already has the sand in it. Do not use this on your wall it will not fill the holes or dents. You will need the putty from the store. There are different types. Just get a the smallest amount you may need and a putty knife. Smear a goop of it over the dent, pushing it in the space. Smooth the top even with the wall using the edge of the putty knife. If your wall is textured then do not smooth the putty, try to imitate the texture that is on the wall as best as you can. Practice on a board first if you doubt yourself. It does not have to be perfect only similar once painted you wont notice. This is really important, I can't stand to see peoples walls that have the obvious "patches" on them where the wall is textured and then all the sudden big "flat spots". If it is a large dent you may need to do this in two different stages. Let dry completely then paint with matching paint. You will not believe how easy it is to patch walls. Now they even make these sprays that help you to acheive the right texture. Just ask the guy at Lowes, they always seem to be happy to help there. All these supplies can be found near the paints.

If it is really small simply need to use spackling paste (drywall putty) and a putty knife. Place spackling paste on the knife and run it across the dent filling in the space. Let it dry and repeat the following day (it shrinks a little bit when it dries.) The second time take a rolled up dishrag (dry) and run across the moist putty like a rolling pin rolling out dough. This will give the putty an uneven surface and will closely match the textured surface most walls already have been given. Then repaint and no one will notice unless you point it out.

Anger Management classes...j/k
at Home Depot ( any home supply store)...there is a yellow "grid" or net like tape you can buy. Use that to tape over the dent and then use a spackle or drywall mud over the top of the tape. You will have to retexture the walls if there are alot of spots and most likely paint.
You can probably google it also!

Fill them in with drywall mud. After filling, level it off with a drywall knife and then when it dries fill it again. Each time the mud will shrink in the middle a little bit. Keep filling it until it dries flat. Sand it with sandpaper and then paint. No one will be able to tell it was even there if you match the paint properly.
