I have a black futon mattress in a dark brown wood frame. I want to buy a table for my tv, mags and stuff but I like this Black one. will it look bad to have a black table near a dark brown wood frame? black is my main base color for decoarting, but i wasn't sure if all furniture should be the same color.
thanks.

I have a chocolate brown bedroom suite and a blueish gray carpet...i was thinking or liking a hot pink but in a deep colour not the whole bright thing. I only have one small window that allows light and a large window with a burgundy blind thats never open (nosy neighbours). The blind can be changed.

Hi, I have had some skirting boards and doors fitted and I want then to keep their natural wood look but think they need a little something. What is the difference between staining and varnishing, do you do one or the other or are they part of the same proceudure? What is the best/quickest method to get good results and can you use these methods over wood filler where there is small gaps in the wood? Thanks

I want to update my kitchen. The cabinets are off white with brassy antique handles. There is beige tile and my appliances are white. I am going to put up an Earth/Clay stone black splash with a mosaic border. I am open to painting the cabinets (cant afford to replace them right now) I want to paint my kitchen a dark brown/cafe color. Any suggestions. My Living area is burnt orange and the dining room is white. I want to paint the dining room too. The dining room is situated between the kitchen and living room; so, I need the colors to flow smoothly between the three rooms. The floor in the living and dining rooms is light color wood. Help! Thx!

We've already purchased the flooring, just need someone to come install it. Already did one room by myself and simply don't have the time to get the rest of the house done in a timely manner.

I have a frame and box spring for my bed but I wanted a waterbed, is there a way I can use my frame with the box spring on it, layer it with some plywood to make sure the waterbed doesnt get punctured and put the waterbed mattress on top or will it fall off? If the box isn't strong enough for it can I make one myself and will that be good enough for the waterbed to be on it?

I cant find a duvet cover that fits my comforter, they are either too big or too small. I thought if I bought one slightly smaller one i can stuff it in and it will be fluffy.

I have these beautiful light fixtures in my home that date back to the 1930's I think...I think the manufacturer is Markel, but I am not sure. I want to find out more about these lights, like where they were made, how much they cost at the time and what they are worth today. I have emailed the photos to a few antique lighting dealers with no luck. Any help would be appreciated!!!
