Hi!..My last bedroom was purple with yellow dots all over the wall. And although i love it i need a change. I am doing some very important exams next yar so i want a calm room. But i dont want it to be boring with just one colour on the walls. Does anyone have any ideas on what way i could decorate my room. It will consist of a large desk, a single bed, a bedside cabinet and built in wardrobe. Its not that big of a room but their stil is a good bit of space.

If anyone has ANY ideas on what to do, or any websites that might be abe to help me out please help!!

Thanks so much! ;)..

Ok. I'm redoing my bedroom. I'm thinking of some darker colors instead of the current colors in my room that are light pink... and I'm really thinking of painting it either hot pink and dark blue or blue and green. What do you think?

I have a plain old white fridge and an awesome new ikea kitchen. Well, I can't afford a new shiny fridge and this one still works, so I was wondering, can I wallpaper it or would painting it be a better idea. I found some great wallpapers, but they aren't cheap, so I wondered if anyone had any experience with this...Thanks

Okay, we just moved, I've got a new bedroom, and want to have my dream theme. I am going to have a fouton, and I found some very nice bedding to put on it - http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=br_1_1/601-3454102-5897737?ie=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B000MW7M7A Also, I am looking for a lamp, and some type of lounge chair. Those are the main things. My mom and grandma want me to have a nice bedroom, but are on a budget. So nothing too expensive... The fouton was very expensive, but it saves space in my room. Also we are looking for some really nice inexpensive ocean scenery posters. ( Alot of them! ) But basically a tropical themed lounge chair, and lamp... Oh, and we want to find a nice inexpensive fake palm tree. I am going to have an ocean waves sound soother, so it's gonna be really nice! So if you know where I can find some of these things or have any suggestions, please tell me!

Thanks!
Taylor

I am having the worst time picking a paint color for my den. my livingroom is attached with glass french doors (wood painted white) and we have picked BM Comet to paint that room and are going for the steel blue with chocolate brown look in that room. For my den with is mostly for the kids I wanted something bright and colorful but needs to not clash with livingroom color. My other problem is my den gets little or no direct sunlight so it is forever dark and always needs a light on so you can see. My floors is orignal maple colored hard wood. I was thinking a nice bright green, but I am worried about picking a color that will make the room darker then it already is. Does anyone have a suggestion on what colors will brighten a room without it being white or pale colors?
I have thought of an accent wall also. Thanks for any help you can give me. Autumn

I have A/C in my apartment but it doesn't reach my daughter's bedroom. We can't install a window air conditioner. What are some ways, other than leaving a fan running all night indirectly in her room, to keep her cool? She's 22 months and wears only a onesie to bed.

OK-I have heard all the propoganda on DirectBuy. AND, it truly sounds like a good deal. HOWEVER, the membership fee is awfully expensive. My question is this: is it worth the membership fee? Does anyone have direct experience with them (without being employed by them) and find that it is well worth the fee? We are getting ready to build a new home and I have talked to them several times and they have assured me that I can save up to 40% on my materials if I go through them. Is this true? I have not had a "meeting" with them yet, as they want a yes/no answer on membership on the spot. You don't have the luxury of going home and thinking about it. That scares me. I want to make an educated and well-thought decision on how/where I spend my money. Saving 40% on materials sounds really awesome--more house, less money--but if it is not true, then I would rather put that membership fee directly into my new home. Please help!

My husband is restaining our kitchen cabinets. After he got finished with the stain and it was dry, he started putting on a coat of clear polyurethane, and after giving a couple of doors a coat of it, he noticed that they were turning a milky white. If anyone could please tell us why, we would really appreciate it. Thank You! Msbb45

The average estimates are about $1,000 to have it done. I was just wondering if it is something my husband and I could do ourselves(without killing ourselves!)

That is the bedding I am using, I was thinking baby pink with pastel yellow vertical stripes (just on two walls, to make the room look wider) but, I don't think the yellow will do with that bedding. Anyone have any ideas?

I'm looking at buying a house, but the tiles in the bathroom are apparently spongy when you press on them.. ie, they sink in, but come back out.
Any idea what this could be?

We just purchased a leather couch that is a light taupe color. It has some green undetones to it. We had planned on painting the walls a shade of green, but I am afraid the green walls would make the couch look even more green. We have wood flooring that is oak. Any advice on a color to paint the walls, or maybe even two colors. Thanks :)

I have quite a small bathroom and am hoping to have it painted and tiled soon. The bathroom suite is white. I was thinking of having white tile with maybe barley white painted walls or do you think that will look too clinical or too white?

the other thing i was thinking is white painted walls with either navy tiles or maybe white tiles with intermittant turquise tiles??

Suggestions please....

i was browsing through the ikea catalogue and i spotted a lovely themed room, with deep purples and oranges. I fell in love with it, but as we all know- in a catalogue EVERYTHING looks great, but with my mess and all my stuff it might not be so clean cut. What d'you guys think? A good choice for a bedroom? The bedroom is big with a massive window, so theres lots of colour. Maybe i should use the light and go for very light colours?
