We recently purchased a black bedroom set, which we love. We also got new bedding-- dark blue paisley with some tans, creams, orange, and lighter blue. Our carpet is cream. We have a vaulted ceiling area. The walls are currently off-white, which we want to change. We like to try different paint techniques and ideas. Are there any suggestions?

I'm decorating my living room with barely any cash out of necessity. I have dark blue carpets and gry/white walls. I've decide to use pillow/cushion type seating since I cannot afford furniture. How should I go about this?

What color schemes and decor ideas should I use? I cannot paint or do anything perm.

Details welcome and much appreciated!

I just bought a new comforter set - it's dark blue with small little white flowers throughout. I'm thinking dark blue curtains will be too dark (I live in S. Florida) and I don't really want white curtains - walls are white (we are renting so don't really like the idea of painting the walls). Any suggestions - would yellow be horrible? I need help. Thank you :)

Any quick and easy tips on using Feng Shui in my home? Easy furniture positioning tips? What to keep and not keep in my place? I have a small apartment, so painting is not an option, but what about colors?

My home was built in 1920 so the varnish is old and has been there for years. I can't afford to replace them but I do want to brighten up my kitchen.

I have an older 100% brick ranh style home and previous owners have done brick-work over the years and the mortar does not match in several places. I'm looking for a way to cover this and am thinking that a whitewash type painting may be the best alternative, but don't know how feasible that is, or if it can be done effectively? I know I've seen many homes that have this type of brick, but my guess is that they are usually done with the original brick and not after the fact (once the home is bricked)........ HELP

We just bought a house that was built in the 1800's. It has beautiful woodwork throughout that I absolutely love. My problem is someone painted some of it white. I have 1 door and two doorways that I would like to remove the paint from. What is the best way to do this? Any certain chemicals or brands that I should use? If it helps the areas are the kitchen and bathroom.

For my living room, I plan to buy a cherry entertainment center, a cherry desk, and a dark brown leather couch with a matching loveseat. I'm positive that I want all of those peices of furniture. How will I keep the room from looking too dark?

I also plan to get a sage green recliner, green curtains, and maybe a green rug.

Our insurance will be covering 100% of our roof from a wind/hail storm. We have 3 tab shingles now and we want dimensional shingles since they are stronger and look better as well. Will our insurance cover the upgrade or do they cover the exact same thing we have now?

I am a 14 year old teenage girl. I am going to move into my brothers room soon, and i get to do practically whatever i want as long as its pretty lower priced and it wont look bad. I have thought over and over, but i cant think of anything to paint the walls [patterns not?] where to put everything. so if anyone could find a picture of a teen girls room that would help so so much.

i love - pinks, oranges kind of, bright colors.
I am very peppy, i have a aqua blue apple clamshell laptop. i love hollister, abercrombie, coach , i have a chanel purse [i dont know what to really say i am just stating my personality]. i love fashion, make up, and others think girls like

so if you could find pictures that would help.

Let me paint the scene for you:

Our living room, dining room, and kitchen are all in a straight line. You can see all three rooms from any of the 3 rooms because there are large doorways. Our living room is painted sage green. The accent colors are dark red, yellow, and light green. The kitchen (on the furthest end) is painted light yellow on one wall and dark red on another wall. If you are standing in the living room, you see the yellow wall. If you are standing in the kitchen, looking into the dining room, you see the red wall.

Okay...enough information; Which color should I paint the dining room? Should I go a warm color to match the other two rooms, or should I go an earthier color to mix it up. What do you think?
