Like you said " you are the clean freak" so it really comes down to this being your problem...sooo don't expect the environment to change to suit you when it is you who must learn to live with your environment. If you can't do that you'll need to find an environment that you can live with - move and you'll be much happier in the end.

If it were me, I would probably ask certain people to be responsible for certain areas of the house. Are we talking about all adults or children? It would make a difference as to your approach b/c adults hate to be ordered around and children have to do it simply b/c we said so regardless of what they think. I hope things get betterv for you. I am apart of a family of five and I have a 3 month old, 13 month old and a 34 month old and husband and I work full time. It would be nice if someone helped me around here!!!!!!! At any rate good luck!

Rhamm618 is right: These people aren't going to pick up for themselves as long as you're there to do it for them. So move out without them. You'll be much happier.

there is no magic answer but keep repeating! ask them if they prefer their home clean or dirty... also you can determine each of the person living in the house to pitch in by having a chore to do everyday give rewards by points to a family vacation or getaway. they have to know that you need them...you're just human and they have to do their share.

I can sympathise with you completely! I think you will probably have to move out, as you will not change them and unfortunately you will possibly go quietly [or not so quietly] mad. Don't stress yourself out over other people's short-comings. Good luck!

You live with? Not a member of the family?I would suggest that you keep your room to your liking, and let them wallow in their messy home. Then again move into your own place.good luck trying to change them.
