Okay, we just moved, I've got a new bedroom, and want to have my dream theme. I am going to have a fouton, and I found some very nice bedding to put on it - http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=br_1_1/601-3454102-5897737?ie=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B000MW7M7A Also, I am looking for a lamp, and some type of lounge chair. Those are the main things. My mom and grandma want me to have a nice bedroom, but are on a budget. So nothing too expensive... The fouton was very expensive, but it saves space in my room. Also we are looking for some really nice inexpensive ocean scenery posters. ( Alot of them! ) But basically a tropical themed lounge chair, and lamp... Oh, and we want to find a nice inexpensive fake palm tree. I am going to have an ocean waves sound soother, so it's gonna be really nice! So if you know where I can find some of these things or have any suggestions, please tell me!

Thanks!
Taylor

Seems like you have been given some great ideas already. :)

I live in the Caribbean, so I will add a few suggestions of my own.

Spray paint some old, odd lamps to match one of the colors in the spread (the aqua on the right hand side would be cool). Add new white shades. A white ceiling fan would also be a nice touch.

If you can buy the old time fishing poles - not rods, but poles - and use them to hang some light weight, breezy sheers on you will be on you way to a fabulous looking room.

Find a fake orchid in a bright color (red?) if possible. Then have a couple of live vines draping down the side of your desk or a shelf. Vines and colorful plants are everywhere here.

A fake parrot or parakeet or any colorful bird perched on the fishing pole/curtain rod would be something fun. Also a dried coconut would add a little interest.

I think you are going to have a great space to call your own. :)

Hope this helps.

They have a lot of tropical decor. You could set up an umbrella in one corner with a straw mat, a regular lounge chair found by the pool or an iron one with tropical cushions, and a small iron side table.

Hang fishing nets from the wall filled with seashells, brighly colored glass balls, and colored mini lights (like you use at Christmas).

Find an old birdcage and put a fake parrot inside. Also use ferns (real or fake).

1] get an outdoor lounge with cushions
2] type in palm tree lamps for internet search - they are amazing!
3] add a sisal rug
4] put up fishnets with some shells, starfish, tiny crabs and lobster
5] use glass weights for nets in decor
