That is the bedding I am using, I was thinking baby pink with pastel yellow vertical stripes (just on two walls, to make the room look wider) but, I don't think the yellow will do with that bedding. Anyone have any ideas?

If I do use stripes, how thick should they be?
What do you think about pulling the brown from the bedding and useing the pink as a base and then the brown as the stripes?

There's a nice combo of colors that seems popular these days that includes a touch of pale yellow and pale pink but focuses on lavender and pastel green. I think it's elegant and lovely for a baby girl, but has a wide enough palette for later use as a young girl. And this way you can incorporate a little of everything into the room. Take a look at Babys R Us or Baby Depot or even Martha Stewart Baby if you'd like ideas.

First congratulations on your baby! There are many ways that you can do this room First if it is pink that you want there is a beautiful subtle way to do it using first coat of flat paint on the entire wall, after this is finished you mark your stripes and use a gloss paint of the same color or slight shade darker ( I personally am fond of using the same color) for the stripe. The stripes can be almost any width though it is easier to make them wide as a small roller. You can also use a stripe pattern affetc by alternating widths of the stripes one wide 2 small ect. Painting the wall with flat and gloss will give a tone on tone look to the room and it is very pretty and not overbearing. Your other option may be to paint with whatever dominate color you choose and then make a chair rail stripe around the room in the brown color you are speaking of. We did that in a room and then we dotted the dark brown with all the colors in the spread making our own boarder. Another option is painting lower half solid pink brown stripe around room and upper half a pink and off white stripe. I could give you more advice though you have not told how busy or the type of pattern in the bedding. Do not be afraid of color. Dark colors will richen the room and not necessarily make it smaller. I am a decorator and am happy to help.

I think that you should put up a chair rail and paint that white. The bottom half of the room should be brown to bring out the detailing in the bedding. The top half should be white. That way, as she grows up, you can always move her to a different room in the house and use the room as an office or a guest room and not have to try and paint over the pink (it is so hard to cover up- it will always be a shade of pink when you try to paint again no matter how much primer you use!) You can bring out the pink in the room by painting store bought picture frames pink and framing pictures and artwork and hanging them on the wall. Also, by not painting the room a bright and bold color and pattern, when you go to sell the house, you will be able to sell it much faster than if you had a bright pink striped room.

Definitely not the pink and brown, but I do like the pink and yellow idea. I would make the yellow stripe about 3 inches wide and the pink strip 6 inches since pink is the predominant color. It's an adorable set and your little girl is going to be a real princess in this lovely setting. Congratulations!

Painted stripes are generally 6-10 inches wide. The larger the room, the larger the stripes. Brown and pink provide too much contrast in color. Pink and ivory make a nice room, especially if you do a color wash with ivory to soften.

I like the stripe idea but i would do either top or bottom striped and other solid and use a white chair rail around the center to seperate.....i wouldnt use pink and yellow though i would pull the lightest green from the bedding.....pale green and pale pink are very pretty together.

The brown and pink theme sounds real good. Those colors won't become outdated as the child grows.
Go to Google Images, enter "brown pink stripes" and you'll get all kinds of ides for widths and stripe patterns that also incorporate white, sweet hearts, and other features.
Have a happy time of it.

Can't tell exactly what other colors are in comforter but maybe match up green with a pastel shade. I agree can't see it in yellow. No pink, though, don't want to over do it. Could always do white and maybe cut out flowers shapes of sponges and stamp in a few places in clusters around room. Can get sample paints at most paint stores that will be enough or think you can by half quarts.

i think the baby pink would be a great base. you should keep that and try to put some of the blue in from the bedding. use a baby blue color, so its not too boyish, and the verticle stripes would still be a good idea.

if you want the bedding to stand out, I would paint the walls a light color. You can take the bedding to homedepot and they will color match anything. You could also paint pale pink then put the same design from the bedding on one wall. Congrats.
