painting nightstand?

i want to paint some night stands. they are white, but have a sorta imitation grey marble finish. i was wondering if there was a way to repaint them without losing the style finish it has. if i put a color over it, will i lose the marble look it has?

you will definitely loose the marble look you need to sand liteley then use primer then your finish also check at a paint store the will have a antique kit that might give same affect

Hey why not paint some parts and the rest buy that shelf paper it comes in a marble look. Because the only way you might see the marble is if you white wash them.
