I have always had my walls wallpapered so just a painted wall sounds boring and I would like to know what can perk it up or do I need to go back to wallpaper books?

My fiance and I are getting married in a historic stone gazebo, which is located in a city park. This gazebo is huge, meaning I can easily put at least 100 chairs in it & have room for the actual ceremony. I'm stuck on the decoration part because I'm not an artistic person. So far, I have two 21" ivy & twine topiary trees, which will have white lights, and there will be one on each side of us. I also have hanging ivy planters, and the ivy hangs about 17". Plus my runner & red rose petals. After that, I'm stuck. I don't want to take away from the fact that it is a stone gazebo, and a historic one at that. I don't want a bunch of tulle all over the place, etc. I want to keep it simple, but not go for the "garden" look. The bouquets are red & white roses with ivy for the greens. I'm open to suggestions! :)

I noticed that most homes are built with wood and some others are built with mixture of wood and bricks. The buildings that are built with steel, concrete or cement are usually offices or goverment buildings or some homes. I ask this because most of the buildings taken down by hurricane Katrina and the tornedo that hit Alabama were made using wood. Is using cement and/or conrete not more cost-effective and won't more lives be protected?

My daughter has dull, gold knobs on her bedroom furniture and I'd like to get them shiny and looking like new gold ones. I've tryed all of the gold paints, even the 14 carat gold paint. Doesn't give the brightness of new gold knobs. Has anyone tired to apply gold leaf to knobs and does it give you the bright gold look that you wanted? Thanks.....

I have a laminate hardwood floors in a medium brown, an area rug with a navy background--ivory, cream, hunter green, light blue floral pattern. My sofa is maize colored and I have a cherry armoite. I want to paint the room a soft silvery gray (woodwork is white) but can't seem to find the right shade--they are all towards blue or green or charcoal. Has anyone done this recently--what paint shade did you use?

I have a light blue-green and silver bedspread. I have teal (more toward the blue end of teal and dark) colored curtains. Furthermore, I have silver and teal nightstand lamps. All of these things were choosen to go together and all match pretty well. I have painted the wall behind the bed a metallic silver and had planned for this to be an accent wall. Now I'm having trouble selecting a color to paint the other 3 walls in the room which are currently white. Any suggestions?

The heater in the flat I've just started renting has decoloured the middle of the wall and window sill. I might be able to get it sorted in the future, but for now, has anyone got any creative decorating ideas to conceal it?

Is it just me or is Target way better? Target has nicer things and the layout is nicer and it's better ventiliated. I even wear clothes from Target..

I'm from Canada now living in the US and Walmart and Target were both kinda unfamilar to me so I'm just learning about it. I think we may have had Walmart but it wasn't popular there.
