I am wanting to build a small hearth out of flagstone. How inexpensive can I get it?

You might be able to find some reclaimed stone, might even find some on e bay if your lucky. Failing that look up your telephone directory and look for salvage yards.I'm not sure where too suggest you look if your in the US, I'm in the UK and there's reclaimer's yards everywhere.

your definition of inexpensive being the only relevant thing here. Enough for a Small hearth maybe only $75 worth of materials - tho - good luck finding someone willing to sell you so little product. Find someone who has some leftover from a recent project or an installer who has a bunch of different leftovers. Have fun once you get the materials - send me some pics once you finish it!
