and i need to tear out the wall between my kitchen and my dinning room to make the kitchen bigger.how can i tell if its a load berring wall

I would not attempt it on my own. It would be better to get a local carpenter to look it over and tell you the best way to do it and get an estimate from him.

dude this is your lucky day. send me a beer for this answer i usually charge for this information.
get up in your attic.
if you know the differrence between trusses and rafter see which you have.
if you don't know im me
if it is trusses do what ever you want.
if it is rafters you need to llok at the ceiling joist ie the lumber your ceiling is nailed to.
Is their a joint between the two walls that will be left after you remove the one youwant to eliminate?
if it has a join you will have to repalce the wall with a beam or header.
Your best bet is to have a building inspector look at it if you are not sure what your looking for.

Go in the attack and see if it has big boards to hold the wall up. And you will also see if you can tear it down or not.

You'll need to get the blueprints of your house from the county clerks office to see for sure.
