I moved into a new home pretty recently. The previous owner left a can of interior wall paint that does not quite match the original color, and this paint has been used on portions of some of the walls. How would I make the wall color uniform again? The neighborhood home improvement store suggested that I take a paint chip from the wall to match the original wall color. Is this the best option? How do I safely remove a paint chip from the wall? My goal is to avoid repainting entire walls, as one of the walls is two stories high, and the walls don't need a total repaint.

Our kitchen has an original vinyl floor and we are going to get ceramic tile now. I assumed the vinyl would be removed before installing the tile, but a contractor says we should leave the vinyl installed and just cover it. Anybody know if this is likely to be correct. Please, no guesses. The opinions of people who truly know what they are talking about would be appreciated.

My wife and I have been brush-painting our unfinished Alder kitchen chairs by hand, and we're getting drips and uneven blotches everywhere. If we want to speed up the process and make things look nicer, do we have to invest in a Spray Gun, or can we use good ol' canned spray paint?

I am replacing my old nasty beige outlet/switch covers with nice new white ones. What I didn't consider was, now that I have replaced them, the actual switches and electrical plugs themselves stick out like a sore thumb. Is there a way to remedy this?

Is cedar too soft for flooring? Is that why I don't see it anywhere? I see old cedar fences being torn down and thrown away all the time, so I thought that maybe I could replane and cut it and glue it in. Then sand it all and stain it, then seal it. Will that work?

Is there any way mold can grow behind wallpaper without water coming in from outside? I'm trying to sell my house and just discovered quite a large spot of this and am very nervous.

Hey, I'm going to post a link to the bedding I have and I would like some suggestions for paint colors that I could paint my bedroom to coordinate with my set. Feel free to recommend "girly" colors since I don't share my room with my boyfriend or anything. I'm leaning away from green because I have the bedding and matching curtains and valance (yes, I am that cheeseball who likes matching stuff) so that would be overkill. I have the duvet not the comforter so there are no ruffles on it, but this is the only pic I can find online. And I have the same sheets as well. Here's a link. http://www.lnt.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2127442&cp&sr=1&origkw=penelope&kw=penelope&parentPage=search

I want to put baroque glass instead of plain glass in two cabinet doors in my kitchen.

The baroque glass has two sides that aren't very different, only slightly:

Only one side has the edge of the swirl sticking out. You can feel the unevenness when you run your hand on the surface of that side.

My question is, which side faces the inside of the cabinet? The groovey side, or the smooth side?
