bring your bedding to the paint store and match the gold as close as you can to the gold on your bedding. On that paint strip, choose either the very lightest or next to the lightest color for your walls.
that way you are staying in the same COLOR, just a different tint, so you won't have too many colors going on in the room.

Cream. I think it would be way too overwhelming for it to be red and any other color would be difficult to make it look good. White would be too harsh with the warm tones of the red and gold. Cream is good too because you can always change your bedding and decoration without worrying about matching your walls.

It would look good with really pale golden yellow ....or off-white or ivory color ...

egg white, light grey, dark grey, light honey, almond, light brown, any light warm color or neutral color like shades of grey or black but light with it, nothing blue or green.
