I have a maple wood entertainment center and the same color bookcase. My furniture is going to be a light gray blue color more grayish and the carpet is a tanish gray color what color rug will look good?

For a little more a square foot you could go tile or non carpet flooring and actually add value as well as good looks to your home. They color choices are better and it's easier to maintain and it's the current housing trend...Carpet and popcorn ceilings are out (very 70's) and that FungShway thing is in.

Based off what you've mentioned I would say a chocolate brown. But if the room is small you might want a brighter rug. ..maybe use something with a pop of color - like orange.

Try something bold like red or maroon. Flip thru magazines and look for colors like yours and then check out what accent colors were used in the pictures.

the color palette you currently have is very muted, so something bold would be awesome! if a big bold scary rug is too much, try something with a trim- even target has a seagrass rug with black trim that "pops" as martha stewart would say. ALSO, don't be scared to angle a rug; not EVERYTHING has to be at ninety degree angles :) GOOD LUCK!!!
