Can I put old refinished cedar fence in as flooring in my house if I plane it, sand, stain and seal it?

Is cedar too soft for flooring? Is that why I don't see it anywhere? I see old cedar fences being torn down and thrown away all the time, so I thought that maybe I could replane and cut it and glue it in. Then sand it all and stain it, then seal it. Will that work?

For heavens sake don't STAIN cedar !!! Yes it will work but you will have to seal it with sanding sealer then about 4 coats of polyurethane.
