I am replacing my old nasty beige outlet/switch covers with nice new white ones. What I didn't consider was, now that I have replaced them, the actual switches and electrical plugs themselves stick out like a sore thumb. Is there a way to remedy this?

You can replace them too, with nice white ones and even change them out to rocker panels or dimmers, if you want. They sell them at the home improvement store and will even explain to you how to wire them in. (Really, you do not need an electrician to do this.)

Just change the switch or outlet. It's really easy and cheap to do yourself. A new switch or outlet is only about $2 at the hardware store. Just shut off the power and as you're taking the wires off the old one, watch how the wires are wrapped around them. Do the same thing with the new ones. Clamp them with a needle nose pliers, shove it back in the box and screw it in and replace the plate.

I've done many of these in my life. Even my husband won't do it so I do.

you can paint them or turn off the power to the switches and replace them. It is easy if you go to Home Depot and purchase the new switches. Un screw the two screws that are holding the switch in and gently pull it out the switch. Un screw one wire at time and place that wire on the same spot as your old switch. After you replace both wires push the swithc back in the wall and trun the power back on. Put your new cover on and you are all set

Replace the outlet is an option. You can get a 10 pack for pretty cheap. Just turn off your breaker in the room you are working in. I would get the push in from the back style those always work well for me.

you can change them out too, it's simple just buy a 10 pack of outlets make sure you turn off the breaker box and switch them out- there's directions on the boxes, and if you just copy what you undo there's really not much to it.

You'll have to get new white ones. but to install them you have to reconnect the wires to the new ones.
