We are moving and I would like to paint the walls. They are white at the moment. I would like to stick with a light color so that it doesn't looked closed in. Any color advice would help. Thank you.

I have an open kitchen/dining room/living room floorplan. My kitchen cabinets are a dark mehogany color. Coutertops are dark grey, floors are a dark grey tile and carpet is a light grey/bluey color.

I hate neutrals but am I stuck? What color should I be painting our walls with so much grey? Our cabinets are lovely and I really want a color that will show them off, not hide them.

Any suggestions?

we are planning to change the location of the entryway into our living room and other that just removing the drywall, how hard is it to frame out the opening. Is this something that other new to home remodelers can do or should a professional do this?

Primed ceiling with oil-based Kilz first. Looked great, no problem. Then applied good quality ceiling paint. The kind that goes on pink and dries white so you don't miss any spots. As it dried several small areas looked discolored ... like off-white or yellow marks. I thought the primer would seal in any imperfections? I put on another coat of ceiling paint ... same marks still appear. What's the problem?

Me and my friend are moving into a new apartment and we want the place to look nice but we also don't want to have to spend too much money. We're both in our mid-twenties and we want the place to look nice but not girly. Any ideas you have would help. Thanks.

We just painted our house white (very white) with a black roof. The problem is the windows are a light beige. What color do we do all trim, gutters and colums on the house. If we do white, the windows will be the only thing that is beige. Would beige windows and trim look bad with such a white house?

I'm now living in a small 2 bdrm apt but I have a lot of furniture (just came from a 3 bdrm house) and I have already gotten rid of the things I don't want.. but things seemed cramped. Does anyone out there have any tips or ideas on how to minimize clutter, and make things more spacious?

Thanks,

I have a small, brick bungalow in Denver. The brick is already painted, and I hate the color. So I want to repaint it. I'm wondering if that's a job one can do by themselves, or something that is better left to a professional? I've painted nearly every other room inside the house satisfactorily. Thanks.

We have an expensive king size pillowtop mattress. Simmons Beauty Rest. It is only 7 yrs. old and has indentations where we sleep. It is very uncomfortable since these "holes" make it impossible to turn over in your sleep and there is a high spot in the center of the bed. We are trying to figure out what to do. We have 2 other mattresses in our guest rooms that are very old and do not have pillowtopsthey are still quite comfortable to sleep on. I think that the pillowtop "feature" is the problem, but it is very difficult to find a non-pillowtop mattress. We do not want a memory foam one either. Which companies make a regular mattress.
