We're thinking of ordering carpet from Empire. They promise the lowest prices and next-day delivery. Has anyone had any experience with them?

I work at a flooring store (not Empire and not one of the big box stores)...my aunt got a quote from Empire and was all excited...till I gave her another quote. Empire only stocks a few different colors/styles, so the selection is limited. The installers are whoever shows up to work that day...and good luck having them come back to fix any unforseeable issues. Best bet? Find a local guy who has been in business that will take care of you...he will most likely be happy to price match with ANYONE else (and they don't charge for estimates/measures either). Good luck and happy carpet shopping.

My son needed carpet and had them come out for an estimate and I was there, these people are over priced like crazy, I would never recommend this outfit to anyone, my son ended up getting an extra room done for still half the price of empire, he went with a local shop and was glad he did.

There is nothing wrong to have wood flooring under appliances in the kitchen , the problem that you will have is height clearance , you see if the cabinets are already installed they usually are set at a standard height for the dishwasher and the stove , the fridge not so much, there is usually plenty of space between the upper cabinet and the top of the fridge ... the dishwasher is the most critical , it may not be sufficient space between the added floor height and the under side of the counter top , and the stove you might find it 3/4 of an inch higher than your top , so this are the only problems , other wise go for it ...

they promise the lowest price because they purchase the lowest quality. and the only way you get next day installation is if you pick one of the four options that they offer. if you don't like one of the four samples that they show you, then it's a special order, you pay more, and you wait .
