Contrary to everyone else's response, yes, it can be done and look fairly good. I think it is very labor intensive, but if you had a source of scrap 3/4" plywood, like from a cabinet shop, you could do the following.

Rip all of the odd size pieces of 3/4" thick plywood into 3 7/8" wide strips, parallel to the top grain. Set the table saw up with a tongue and groove molding head, tongue and groove all of the pieces, including the ends and the plywood is ready to install.

The installation can be in a standard in line pattern or a parquet pattern. Lay the pieces in a bed of Henry 430 adheasive and use an 8 penny finish nail driven thru the tongue. Remember that the 430 adheasive will not allow you to lay the piece down and slide it against the previous piece. You must butt the pieces before you push them down.

A light sanding, stain color of your choice and two coats of water base poly will give you a floor to drool over.

Plywood is for the sub-floor. The only way to make it look like hardwood flooring is to nail tongue-in-groove hardwood flooring over it. There are hardwood lookalikes such as Pergo, which are masonite tounge in groove planks with a vinyl top layer, made to look like hardwood boards.

just buy some cheap hardwood floor from home depot. It will be more, but it will look a million times better. Its easy to install too.
Plywood will not stay straight after awhile. It will start to waffle.

They make linoleum with a hardwood pattern...that would probably look better than trying to paint plywood to look like it.
It would take an awfully skilled artist to make plywood look like real wood.

If you want to sell your home in the future, don't waste your time or money using plywood floors...

No matter what you do to it, it still looks like plywood.
