Ceiling first, then walls, then trim. It's a matter of sequence as well as the law of gravity. Paint splatters from the ceiling downward onto the walls, and sometimes the trim. Paint from the walls splatters onto the trim. Always start from the top and work your way down. Thankyou Mr. Isaac Newton.

the ceilings should be first to be painted and it is a lot easier to do it in the order of ceiling walls trim and good rule tofallow by is go from top to bottom also you wil find that it is a lot easier to do it this way due to gravity so paint normally drips down on to trim then walls-this way it doesnt matter because they havent been painted yet

The rule is, start at the top and work down. Paint usually splatters down. If "trim" includes crown molding, and it is a contrasting color, it is sometimes easier to do the wall just under it and let that dry completely, then tape it off to do the trim. Real pros don't do it that way, becasue they can "cut in" with paint, but I'm no pro and use all the tricks I can. I tape off around trim.

I usually do the trim first, because it is easier to tape off than the wall.

you should always do the cieling first since its the most vurnable place for painting mistakes then do the walls and lastly the trim. just do forget to use painters tape before you begin anything

I don't think it matters that much because they are totally seperate anyways. Although you should paint the trimmings last.
