Sure - it's okay....until you actually need to use your heat/air!!! How do they expect air to circulate around your home? And this will cause un-necessary stress/strain to your central air/heating system and it will die a premature death.

Those guys are just Lazy! Make them cut out the holes!

Good luck.

You are saying that they covered completely your heat and air condition vents??????

NOT IT IS NOT OK.

They have to remove the covers and cut out the carpet and reinstall the vent covers.

Who in the world did you have install this anyway????

Call them to come back and correct this.

Basically, I wouldn't done that because it might eventually ruined your carpet in the long run. You could had them out the carpet out of the where the vents were located at.

if you want only one or two vents in a particular room covered up it should be fine,if thats what you are getting at,some homeowners dont want to use that vent anymore, done it before but first you must cover vent with some tin or thin plywood , than go over it with carpet...........

They really don't know what they are talking about. Maybe they are too lazy to cutout the carpet to fit around the vent. Don't let them. You'll freeze in the winter a sweat in the summer!!!!!

If the vents in question are the heating and cooling registers for your central HVAC system, no, they should not be covered with carpet.

No! Sounds like some workers were a little lazy. Call them ASAP and ask to talk to the Boss or manager. Don't let him tell you it's okay because it's not.
