Sadly this is not a simple fix. As there may be many reasons for this dark and light spots. one is the amount of time the stain was left on before it was wiped off.two would be how clean was the rag you wiped off with. three would be if you had any moisture or wet spots as these will take stain differnently then dry spots.even sweat dripping off of you can cause spots in a raw floor. you may be able to re stain the light areas allowing the stain to sit longer before wiping.and lastly would be to start over and sand it again. hope this helps

It took several unmatched planks of wood to lay the floor.
When natural variation in color is not preferred, apply
straight bleach to the darker areas from a container &
paint brush, twice where darkest, and let dry in between.
This is done on dark spotted bare wood Before staining.

Strip stain on a dark area, and Test with bleach applied once
or twice for result. Medium Oak Stain may blend it all.

When you sand wood to be stained it opens the pours of
the wood. Then if you apply wood conditioner it will help
the wood take the stain evenly. Apply conditioner wipe
off excess with clean absorbent cloth and let dry before
applying stain. Good Luck.
