We recently moved and I am going to decorate my sons room. Unfortunatly the walls in his bedroom are all pink (Bright pink I might add) And I cant paint them as we're renting. I wanted some sort of theme. He's almost 2, he loves The wiggles and all sorts of vehicles (eg truck, car, plane, train) and also loves animals. Any themes I think of dont seem to fit the pink walls in. I thought of covering the walls with fabric but that requires fixing the fabric to the wall which may mean nails or such which I also cant do. Also, my son my decide to pull on the fabric and rip down it goes! So thats out of the question. I thought of a sunset/sunrise theme but i think it would be a bit boring. Any thoughts?

talk to your landlord we're good people usually.....I can't believe it stayed bright pink no landlord I know would paint a room bright pink. chances are it was a previous tenant. Ask him if you can paint the room. You may have to pay for the paint but at least you'll get a color you can live with. I've never had a problem with letting a tenant make some modifications to their place as long as it is reasonable. I've even payed for the materials for a few. It won't hurt to ask..............

At this age your little guy doesn't even know that pink is a "girlie" color- so for at least 3-4 more years your safe, I would think! But I would ask your landlord between now & then if you could re-paint the walls, I am sure he won't mind, as long as you do it yourself, even buying the paint, or make a deal with him- you'll do the painting, buy the paint and see if he won't take some $$ off the rent for one month. If this isn't going to work, go looking for wall posters with kid's themes or cartoon charactersand hang them every where you can. But I bet if you ask the owner of the house-he will work with you on this. Try and see! Good luck!

I'm a landlord also and if someone painted a room in my house bright pink, I would definitely paint over it or allow someone else to paint over it.

If you cannot paint, them how about painting several surfaces with chalkboard paint and hanging them around the room at your 2 year olds height ? The fabric is a good idea and if you are allowed to hang pictures on your walls, then you should be able to tack fabric to your walls.

You could fix 4 little hooks in each corner and have a rope fixed very tight between the top two and the bottom two. Use that to fix the fabric to. I'm sure that 4 little hole's can be fixed when you move out!
Good luck!

Maybe the person who your renting from wont mind you painting the walls. Ask. If your not allowed then go to a abc shop and buy big stickers that come off without recking the walls.

A little fellow that age doesn't really know pink from yellow so until he is around 4 or 5 you are okay. My husband's cousin decorated his apartment with wooden frames that had fabric stretched on it and it looked great. Can your husband do some carpentry? Maybe use some of that plastic lattice they have at Home Depot and you can hang things on it.

how about at some hobby stores they sell wall murals and cartoon characters that you can stick on the walls and peel off with not damaging the paint, cover his walls in them to hide some of the pink?? (the house I moved into had finding nemos ones still stuck to one bedrooms walls) I took some off but left the rest as they were cute ) the ones I peeled off came off the walls with ease and left no marks..
