The Kitchen has some red and blue ( prime colors - bright ) in the lighting - but other then that the carpet is black and white and all furniture is black, all walls are white !! What are the "it" colors that will still be "it" in a couple years !!?? I like the thought of a light purple in the bath, but then are you stuck doing pastel colors in the rest of the place ?? Please help I cant commit to any colors !!!

living room, shades of off white, linen white. or different hues of blue remember you have to look at it every day. alltrim linen white semi gloss remember ..flat finish for the walls, this hides alot of imperfections. eggshell for bathrooms or kids rooms& semi gloss for trim, doors ,base molding etc...remember white ceilings always especially in small rooms .this tends to make the room look larger. deep colors tend to make the room smaller. to figure out how much paint you will need length x width = ??? divide ??? by 400 and theres your answer(always round up) sunlight is the best light to pick colors in,fluoroescent and incandescent may change the color on you ... and yes i am very bored this evening. good luck

Don't worry about what will be in in a couple years. You can always change the colors and even the furniture. I would say a red would be nice with the black and white, you could even slip cover the furniture to a neutral instead of black. I also just bought a condo and I am loving the blue/ brown combination. The light purple bathroom would look really nice with a chocolatey brown and wouldn't make it so pastel.

Paint color plays a drastic part in how we perceive a room. The lighter the color, the larger the room looks. By the same token vertical stripes on the walls make a room look small. That is why paneling became unpopular.

I would suggest you go with an egg shell or bisque beige which are both off white colors so they are not quite so harsh as white in most of the condo and let the curtains and furniture provide the contrast and accent. I would leave the kitchen white or wall paper it with a pattern of wall paper suitable for a kitchen.

Let the shower curtain and towels and floor mats in the bathroom provide the contrast and color with the off white walls.

Seriously, I did what I wanted, but if this is investment, stay neutral, not white, but tans, grays, even sage green, but not a red or purple room.
I have a cranberry and black kitchen, but I love it! When I sell, it is different, somwone will have to make changes. It was custom made for me, but I have no plans to sell at the moment.

try a grey or cream color. You can even get a paint that looks like suede and in a nice grey it looks really sharp with black furniture.
