Right now I have burgandy colored carpet, but will be getting a khaki or dark beige. I want to paint my walls now, but what would look good with either color so I don't have to repaint after the new carpet? It might be another 6-9 months before I can get it, but I want color now! Can you help me choose a color?

Just about any color would match with khaki or beige.

A neutral tone would be best.

Go with either a deep gold color or a taupe... maybe a cafe-au-lait color?

Just don't match it to the beige carpet you're getting. Monochromatic beige will make you feel like you're swimming in a bowl of oatmeal rather than relaxing in your newly decorated room.

A color slightly darker than the khaki or dark beige, and try coloring just one or two of the walls that are adjoined.

Use your furniture as a guide. Pick a color in the upholstery or think what it would look like next to the wall color. It's easy to change the paint color - the furniture will probably be around a lot longer.

My advice is to find the carpet you want, doesn't mean you have to buy it, take a sample to your local paint store, and find something that compliments the carpet color you picked out. Also, make sure your carpet isn't something your going to be unable to buy in your time frame.

It depends on the rest of your decor really....

However, rule of thumb is to go lighter on the walls than the flooring, so if you want to stay neutral, go a lighter beige or khaki than the one on the floor.

Perhaps if you dont mind darker color a Brick Red or a Chocolate Brown might be warm and inviting.

You should get one wall done in this like beige-ish, off-white color, and another done in something more intense, like a rich red-wine color maybe? I think that would be a nice blend =]
