i to am remodeling my kitchen and knew up front i needed to ask for help maybe thats what you should have done also, instead of just telling everyone what you are doing , try that and see what happens

Do a google search for kitchen remoldling, visit lowes (they have free classes, and how-to's) pick up a how too book.
Consult a general contractor if you don't want to take it on.
