I'm adding a gas fireplace. I already have a red brick wall in the room next to the fireplace. (other walls are wainscotting and painted drywall). A local stone and brick store employee said that if you already have a geometric brick or stone in the room, it doesn't look good to mix in a non-geometric stone veneer. Assuming that is true, how would mixing in another completely different geometric stone veneer fit in? My red brick is 100 years old and can't be matched. Or any other ideas. I also have brick red pavers on the floor. I'm afraid of adding too many elements.

Both duvet cover and down comforter are the same size (full) but after a few days my comforter ends up in a ball inside the cover. It is a pain to fix it. The only way I can think of to fix it would be to sew the comforter in place. But that is a little more permanent than I was hoping for. Thank you!

I have a soapstone sculpture that was painted, but over time has faded. I would like to repaint it but am unsure as to what kind of paint I can use on it. Does anyone out there have any clues for me? Thanks in advance.

I'm collecting blue & white dishes, vases, etc and want to decorate my dining room around them. Any ideas for a color scheme? How about ways to display them? I want to add more as time goes by.

I am buying a house that doesn't have a fireplace. In the future I would like to install one. I am currently figuring up my 5 year plan for the property and want to know about how much the addition of a wood burning masonry fireplace costs. I am aware that this is not the most efficient fireplace available, but this is what I am going to choose based strictly on my preference.

I have searched the internet and have found many articles debating different types of fireplaces, estimated resale value, etc. but nothing with a ball park dollar amount. If anybody has added a fireplace to their house or is a contractor who has worked on similar jobs, I would greatly appreciate an approximate figure.

Thanks!

Hi
I am having a wedding coming up and the hall I rented does not have a dance floor. I am seeing if I would be able to make one myself. Does anyone know exactly what i need (type of wood, polish,...) and how to make it?
Thanks
