the top I have is formica over wood. I need to choose between drop in or undermount sink.

An undermount sink would require a solid surface top such as Corian or granite. The best and most reasonably priced option would be to buy an all in one unit where the sink is molded into the top. A wide variety of styles, colors, and sizes are readily available in any home improvement outlet such as Lowe's or Home Depot. Assuming that your sink cabinet isn't over 36" wide, you should be able to buy one for well under $100.00 .

god no! use liquid nails. once you're extremely adventurous, upload some blocks contained in the nook of the cupboard with some timber glue or gorilla glue. this can boost the floor area and gives you the proper for floor area for much more effective bond. I have a 1200lb slab of granite adhered to my island with user-friendly liquid nails. It ain't going no the position....
