I love the look of Brazilian Cherry but have been informed that it changes colour in the light. Has anyone any information or experience about using Brazilian cherry hardwood?

This will sound crazy, but bear with me. I was painting my kitchen with a satin ivy green. I used one gallon and then needed more. I told my husband that since we had kids, we probably should've gotten the gloss paint vs. satin so that messes could be wiped down easily. So I used the same ivy green, but a gloss for a second coat. I, being a "woman that changes her mind a million times," hated the gloss. I only made it halfway around the kitchen before I realized that it looked awful,...especially in comparison to the satin. SO...I sent my poor husband BACK to the store for more satin to cover that yucky gloss. Now I have a problem. When I put the satin back over the gloss,...the dried product was a semi-gloss. It looks nothing like the plain satin. If you were able to make any sense of this...can you help? How can I make it all look like the original satin? (Boy,...what a mess!)

what is the difference in the powder thin set & the pre mix? Also i was told the pre mix is not as good & never to use it for floors. I saw different types at home depot & 1 of hte pre mix says is is for granite/marble which i would think u need a strong glue for the weight. So do u use powder for floor & the pre mix for walls? Also I saw that had a acrylic mix also in powder. what is that for.. thank you

I'm trying to get a nice straight line between the top of my wall and celling which are different colours. I can't use masking tape as this pulls the paint off and have tried using an edging brush which is really slow. Any pro painters out there who can help me out???

So much water is wasted washing paint brushes and roller trays covered in water-based paint. Can anyone suggest a way to wash them using less water?

The tiles are cheap, about the 99 cent variety sold at the local home improvement store, I think the the tiles cracked because they were not installed correctly. Tiles were cracked throught the grout and into the next tile, grout was faulty, breaking out all over. The tile are do not seem securely bonding to the subfloor.
The landlord wants to charge over $1800 for repairs. I think this way overpriced.

We just pulled up the carpets and found hard wood flooring underneath. Has anyone ever redone hard woods on their own or would it be easier and less time consuming to hire a professional. This area of the house is about 800 square feet.
Thanks Alot!
