It actually makes a King size bed. They sell units that join the two as well .. Many older King size beds had two twin Box springs for the support.

a twin mattress is 39" extensive. an entire mattress is fifty two" extensive a queen mattress is 60" extensive a king mattress is seventy 8 " extensive. twin and finished are seventy 5 inches long, twin XL, queen and king are eighty inches long. No concept how enormous a California King is, in spite of the incontrovertible fact that it relatively is larger than a King. HTH
