The chimney has no fire associated with it.

bathroom fans are generally vented out a wall, venting it into a chimney would be a bad idea. I've never seen one vented this way and doubt it would pass code.

well I guess this would be Okay but I'd want to run some flexible duct down the chimney if possible because that air is going to be damp.

But if the chimney has adequate ventilation already ( i.e., it is not in use by a gas fire, but has been closed off with a ventilator grille fitted) then I suppose it would be Okay.

This does seem an unusual installation though and I'd be wary of unforseen consequenses. Why don't you fit a suspended ceiling and run 4" ducting above the ceiling instead?

I think its OK as long as the chimney is not used for any kind of fire, and I think you would need to install flexi pipe all through the chimney, but you need to get it checked out by some one who knows IE, a surveyor or corgi registered plumber, etc.

use kd pipe or flex aluminum and install a vent damper. and if you are making a hole in the chimney be sure to use a fire caulk to seal up around the vent where it enters the chimney.

no......the national code will not allow u to use a chimney for anything other than its intent.......if u were to put a hole in the chimney to put the pipe in for the vent u could cause a fire......

of course y not the moisture will still go out
if it's set up right
but would you want to
is more to the point
ie, distance, practicality etc etc
but you do need one to avoid damp mould etc
