We tend to lean toward more warm colors and my husband refuses to paint the wood trim, because it matches the hardwood floors. I want to brighten everything up! Thx!

This is a very long living room wall. White fireplace. Fawn color furniture with maroon and gold pillows. Wood floors. I need a rug. Would oriental look okay? What colors? Right now there is a white area rug that looks okay. What if I painted the entire room the same color? Would that be too much? Help, please.

My house was built in 1894 & the walls are made of lath & plaster . I put a nail in the wall & if I don't hit the lath or a stud , it comes out .sorry to say my hand hued log studs arn't 16" apart .
The studs just arn't in the right place . Need to use 2 ankers .
How can I hang a big picture safely over a couch ? centered at the right place .?

I know they make ankers for dry wall , to hang things on ,but what about old plaster
A Christmas gift I had to put behind my side board until I could hang it .
Help Please
Thank You

My bedroom is looking pretty dull at the moment, and i am considering giving it a new look, but I am on a tight budget ($70-$100). I don't need to do any painting since i am happy with the color.

We own a paint and drywall business. We want to put a notice on our bid sheets that we aren't responsible for items left in our way, ie curtians, furniture not moved etc. Basically we had to take down some complex curtians in order to paint and the home owner raised a fuss about it. We want to say some like if you move your stuff, and we have to move it to paint or drywall, we're not responsible for putting it back. Or would it be better to just add a small fee to return the items if the homeowner didn't move them?

I painted my wood floor and used pencil to mark the lines and then taped over the pencil. Now I pulled up the tape and you can see the pencil lines. I tried an eraser and it's too messy (and I would need way too many!) and I tried a scrubbie with water. Clorox bleach cleaner works well but I am afraid to use it as it might take the paint I just painted off and I still want to paint a sealer on top and I want it to stick. Any suggestions? or can I use the bleach cleaner without any problems?

I have a old VZictorian house that now has seveal office on the first 2 floors, I have been told that the 3rd floor apartments would not make good office space because of being on the 3rd floor with no elevator, which is cost prohibitive. Do you agree ? If so, what should I put up there, I don't want anymore people living in the apartments up there.
