I got this can of paint:

http://www.glidden.com/products/getProducts.do?brandid=1

The 4th one from top to bottom.
I have to paint 2 new doors. These are the ones that come already primed, ready to paint.

According to the instructions, i should add some water to this paint, so that means it is water based paint.

Im not sure if this paint is the right one or should i get an oil based paint for the doors?? I do not want them to stain in the first week with fingerprints.
I need it white, not flat but also not glossy... so i understand that i need "satin" right?
Thanks

I have fairly new ceramic tile by the front door which opens into the living room. Now I want new wood in the LR floor and am wondering how it would look to leave the tile and start the wood at the edge of the tile. It will probably be laminate and will need some kind of separation edge or something.

We have an old home (1940) that has the original plaster walls. We would like to hang picture frames and some small shelves that would hold little nick-knacks, a model sailboat, etc. I have been reluctant to do it up to this point because I do not want to crack the plaster, damage the walls, be left with a ever-growning crack and a shelf or frame that is not securely in the wall. Any suggestions from others who have dealt with similar situations?
THANKS!

When I removed painters tape from the crown molding, a small line of the original paint color was covered and is now showing between the new paint and the crown molding. It is very small line that a small artists brush or foam brush would cover. Will these work. I used Benjamin Moore/Putnam Ivory/ Flat paint.

I would like to maximize the amount of finished space to use for entertaining. My wife believes that if you dont have enough storage space you cannot sell a house easily. So what is the right answer???? 50% storage 50% finished??? Or less?

My painter wants to use Dulux (ICI) paint instead of Behr Premium which I recommended. Can someone comment on the quality in comparison?

...the rest of the house. These hardwoods have the normal signs of wear, carpet tack marks from a previous carpet cover-up, etc. I really love the look of wood, but am afraid that putting laminate (in kitchen and bath) might look too perfect and fake next to my real, somewhat distressed hardwoods in rest of the house. Any ideas?

I have just moved into a new house and have quite a large bedroom. I'm thinking about painting it pale green or black and off-white with maybe some silver stripes randomly on the walls. Can you buy metallic paint, does it exist?? Are there any other colours or ways I could paint my room without making it too dark - there's only one window?

We have a 2 bedroom house that is 1 story and 100 years old. However, we have an attic with 600 square feet of usable stand-up space (we measured) and four full size windows in it, however the only access is is a crawl space the size of a boot box which is located in the back of a closet. We want to put in a pulldown stairway somewhere and make the attic into a bedroom. The only problem is is that the floor joists in the attic are 2" x 6" (the lumber is in good shape too). I know that there is no way that this would be able to support a floor and/or furniture - how could we safely re-enforce the floor (without having to put in support beams downstairs because there is NO room to do that) so that we would be able to have a bedroom up there? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!!!

madeover on tv shows on HGTV, like say a theater room or whatever...often these people live in huge homes in rich areas???
Why is that...it seems like they only go to well off neighborhoods and help them design their homes...not poorer areas, why is this???
Is this fair to you?
I really am not interested in seeing some rich princess mom get a room madeover when their room is like 4 of my rooms put together...you know what I mean?

I just got a new chest of drawers. My wife plans to put her sweaters in them. We've had problems with moths in the closet, so we used little mothball bags in the closet. I just found out that cedar wood is a natural moth repellant. I found some cedar wood balls in the hardware store. How do I use it? One ball per drawer? How long does it last? Do I need to replace them or "recharge" them after a few years? Thanks for the help.
