I got this can of paint:

http://www.glidden.com/products/getProducts.do?brandid=1

The 4th one from top to bottom.
I have to paint 2 new doors. These are the ones that come already primed, ready to paint.

According to the instructions, i should add some water to this paint, so that means it is water based paint.

Im not sure if this paint is the right one or should i get an oil based paint for the doors?? I do not want them to stain in the first week with fingerprints.
I need it white, not flat but also not glossy... so i understand that i need "satin" right?
Thanks

It looks like that will be fine. I don't know why you would have to add water though...unless you plan on spraying them?? You didn't say what your doors are made of, or if they are interior doors? If they are the primed interior doors, this will work fine..just be sure you re-read and see if you HAVE to thin the paint..I don't think you should have to unless spraying them. And yep, the satin finish sounds like what you are looking for if you don't want it glossy or flat. You could also use a semi-gloss though:) The satin might end up looking too flat depending on what your doors are made of~
Good Luck!!

There is no rule which says you must paint doors white, or strip it, or color it to merge with the walls. Most interior doors looks best in an eggshell finish, as high-gloss paint can have a rather bleak, deadening effect. Whether the doors has been painted before or not, wood doors must be properly prepared before being painted. In general, this means filling any cracks and holes and then sanding the surface.

No the doors have been primed so you cannot stain them anymore. Paint them with any latex (water based paint) you want, then cover the paint with clear "bulls eye shellac" . It dries in minutes and it is easy to apply. If your doors get dirt or light scratches, just wipe them down and brush some more clear Shellac. You can rejuvenate your doors as often as you want without re-painting your doors.
Good luck!!!!

All the answers about using a blade are sound but there is one more thing you should do first.Using a sharp but rigid blade, like a Stanley knife, score the paint between the glass and wood then, when you scrape the paint off the glass you will have a clean edge.
