Yes. Depending on the type you buy, the surrounds are fitted so they sit on the top of the tub after caulking the bottom edge that touches the was to prevent leaks. My personal choice would be to get a one piece surround that comes folded, but it is easy to install the surrounds that come in two end pieces and two back wall pieces. The latter type is harder to make really attractive.

Yes, like bathfitters. They have a shell that fits directly over your tub, as well as a shell that goes on top of any tile, etc on the walls.

Yes they do, The professional will come and measure your tub and surround..Another option is to have it refinished, I had mine refinished and it looks brand new..It was 400.00 to have that done..Went from the 70's gold to a off white..
