try very very very bright yellow. it's cool - and i suggest polka dots, huge ones.

Beige/creme and white is a nice compliment to dark purple.

Anything lighter.Maybe in the Gray's or Silver's or even a lighter shade of Purple..Go pick out some color cards from your local hardware store, in every shade imaginable, take them home and decide, Hang them and narrow your choices..

My son's room is done in crazy purple, a very deep color of it, very soothing believe it or not. He has his room accented in teal green and white. And it looks stunning.
