#1. Get some ideas of what you want for colors on walls and if replacing carpet then look at samples for that also. #2. Have a yard sale or join the freecycle.org group and you can get rid of the old things by selling them in the yard sale or give them away in the freecycle site. #3. Paint the walls, tear up old carpet. #4. Lay new carpet down and move new furniture in! Have Fun and good luck!

1. get rid of the furniture first, this will give you more space to work with.
2. If you are going to paint then do this next.
3. If you are going to put in new carpet then do this next after the paint has dried.
4. Then move all your furnitue in last and hang your curtains

Call salvation army or Good will. Tell them that you would like to donate what you would like to get rid of. Next. figure out how you would like to decorate your room. Look through home and gardens magazines. Watch home decor programs. Talk to decorators for advice. Then, it's time to figure out your budget. Get an idea of what (if at all) amount you are willing to spend. Finlay, go to home furnishing stores and retail stores to acquire your surplus.
