Me and my husband have been searching apartments for rent and 90% come with carpets. Being both from Europe, we are not used to the smell of carpet. We just wondered what happened in this country that so many people use carpets.

I'm trying to remove wallpaper and I've got wallpaper stripper which is not working. The wallpaper is coming off in little itty bitty pieces which is driving me nuts. It's taking forever! I know sometimes they say use a putty knife to scrape it off but that messes up the wall underneath badly. Is there any other easy ways to remove wallpaper?? Any suggestions gladly accepted. Thanks!

I have an porcelain tub & tile work form the 80's I think, but the tile has no chips or scratches, the color is blue & it just looks really dingy so I heard about this process & am curious. Also, does anyone know how much something like this costs?

When my husband finished the walls in our batthroom, he used mud or spackle and created a stucco effect..it has been a few years and is impossible to clean..plus it hurts if you lean against it. I don't want to have to replace the wall board, whats the best solution?? Thanks for your help

I have installed an adjustable curtain rod which adjusts to any size between 30" - 48". This results in the rod having a joint in the middle. Everytime I move my curtains the rings tend to get stuck on the joint. Does anyone have a solution for this?

long legs. Every time I find a leather sofa it's either too rigid or you sit too straight up in it. I haven't found one yet that's reclining and also plush.

i just upgraded to a full size bed. i live with my mom and my son and i always had a twin bed. finally i cleaned my room really well and had room for a full size bed. i am so thrilled. the problem is, i don't have alot of money to get a nice bed set for it. i wanted to get two more good quality pillows, (that aren't gonna go flat in a week) sheets, pillowcases, bedskirt... and also a sham for the pillow i have and a comforter. and an extra blanket. i know i am gonna spend alot. that's the issue. i went to walmart to look at the discount bedding and it either didn't match my room at all or it was striped. i want to try to buy everything kinda together so i not only save money but so it all matches. i'm looking for a blue casual theme. not boyish. kinda girly but not gonna scare my bf away. any ideas???

I hate the look of mismatched whites - but I don't know what color the trim is to purchase the exact same shade. Is it going to be aweful if I paint the doors a starchy white, compared to the more antiqued look of the off white? Any other suggestions for color (closet doors, and bedroom doors)? We currently have browns, greys and neutrals throughout.
