Hi! This is driving me nuts! OK, I usually get sick on vacation - immune sys. shuts down and I spend half of the time buried in tissue box. This past week, no exception - started w/ sore throat xmas eve which has persisted 6 days. in b/t, have had rhinitis, sinus pain 'n congestion, cough. I've tx'd w/ lozenges, Vit C, fluids, boatloads of ibuprofen and a few tyl and/or tyl sinus here 'n there.

OK, so far par for the course. Virus, cold, whatever (btw, i did have flu shot one mo ago...). YESTERDAY, I noted a slight swelling upper hard palate, ant. to vibrating line and 5mm medial to #s 2 &3. today, more swelling, lesion is maybe 3x5mm w/ a smaller 2x2 adjacent. tiss is slightly erythematous, dome-like, non-ulcerated, v tender to palp. no exudate.
my differential so far: salivary? lymphatic? drainage from sinus inf?? it is quite sore and thobs a lot. Any thoughts? (flew Ohio to Bos this AM and spent week driving 'roung OH/MI....?)

I'm 32 and would love to get the clear removable braces. My dentist doesn't think they are wise because "most people don't keep them in, they cost more and take longer to work" I don't want visible metal braces at my age. Has anyone used the clear ones? How much roughly do they cost? thanks.

I just had my wisdom teeth extracted. There is not a gaping hole in the back of my gums, as I had expected. Instead, there are slits on the sides of my gums that have stitches in them. Therefore, I am led to believe that the surgeon just extracted my wisdom teeth from the gums, but what did he put in the cavity where they were?

1. do you have a hole in the end of your toothbrush?
2. why do you think it's there?
3. who is employed to make the hole, is this a specialist job, would not having a hole put thousands out of work?
4. is my medication on a high enough dose?

#3 would hurt occasionally when I would grind it for 2 years. It then started to ache and I had a root canal done my an eminent Endo. 5 months it was fine - now it hurts again. (I have no #2 and 4-5-6 are also RCT. The oddest thing is sensing cold - perhaps at the base of the tooth at the roof.

We have basically taken the tooth out of occlusal and I still have this unexplainable pain/sensitivity to cold. No one can explain it. The endo and my dentist both say the xray is clear and don't suspect cracked tooth syndrome because of the time (3yrs) that its been xrayed, etc.

It is crowned.

Any new thoughts? I wear a night guard and my gum health is pefect. My sinuses are clean.

In the worst case scenario of both dentures and implants failing and being unable to chew due to tooth loss, what kind of foods could you eat to get enough calories to maintain your weight? Can pretty much any food be grinded down in a blender? Are blenders strong enough to grind down meats, fruits and veggies?

I saw my dentist on WEDNESDAY because my bottom wisdom teeth are hurting really bad (right side more) Aftr x-rays if told me because of the position of my wisdom teeth(growing in wrong way) on the bottom and the way they r impacted I have to c a oral surgeon and have them removed! That is really the only form of treatment! He at first didnt wanna give me anything for pain but ended up perscribing some tylenol 3s at first this was working okay but still major issues at night ! I couldent get a appt. with the oral surgeon till next Wednesday! SO I also am taking an antibiotic and this mouth rinse but still in alot of pain exspecialy at night!! I called his office this afternoon to see if there was somthing maybe just a little stronger he could persribe and the receptionist sd he is out of the office till Tuesday and that there is nothing she can do. I asked her what am I goon do over the weekend (three day weekend for most due to NEW YEARS) WITH THIS PAIN &what if it gets even worse?

I have an abcess which i discovered yesterday i went to the hospital dentist last night as i was rolling about in agony, he started me on antibiotics and i have been taking ibroufen and paracetamol for the pain, the only thing is my right hand side of my face is like a golf ball and i think it looks like it is getting bigger, alot of the pain has gone, but the swelling is worse. i have now been on the antibiotics 24hrs, just wondering if this has happened to anyone and how long it took for the swelling to go down?
