Ok, I know I am going to get some "eww, thats sick" or "why did you do that" because people seem to do it on everything here but, yesterday I noticed this off taste in my mouth and I thought it was just the odd after taste of a slushy till I looked at my tongue and in the back of my mom it was like a white/yellow tint and I did mouthwash and I could still taste it so I took my toothbrush and pulled out my tongue and brushed it with my toothpaste and it went away and I don't taste that stuff anymore or see anything on my tongue and I haven't looked at it till this morning so, is it infected or just trying to heal?

our own dentist doesnt answer calls out of hours even when bound by contract.
NHS direct gives out numbers reluctantly that dont answer either.
Does this help only exist on paper?
Why doesnt any NHS lierature or websites mention urgent dental care?

Yesterday, I had a wisdom tooth pulled and I went home with no blood. I went to drug store to get my drugs and I started bleeding heavily. Called the oral surgeion, assistant said to take a tea bag and wrap it in gauze, wet it and stick it on my socket for 45 minutes, and lay down and lay still. I did this.
When I took out the gauze, it was better. Then I called someone, it started bleeding again. I called my oral surgeon again, and assistant said I should come in.
I had blood clots forming around the socket and in between and on my teeth. What they said happened is the clot that is suppose to form inside the socket seeped out and into my mouth and on my teeth and stuff.
I went back in, the put something in the socket, on top, rather, called Surgicel. Can someone tell me what this looks like and how it works? Is it gel? Is it a pill? Is it liquid that turns to a sealant?
Also, being I had this traumatic episode, I am afraid to go the grocery store today or do anything sitting up

I'm really thinking about getting braces for the second time. I just want my top row expanded so when I smile you can see all my teeth. It just seems kind of narrow. Would that be ok? Or would I need to have them both expanded?

I've always brushed my teeth and my tongue regularly, but recently i've some white stuff on my tongue (the further back the more there is) I painstakenly brush this off every morning as i'm very conscious about oral hygiene. Alot of it comes off, but never all of it. I even leave tootpaste on my tongue when i've finished. I've also bought all sorts of breath sprays but nothings worked. Any ideas as to how to get rid of it??

I have to get some cavities filled and the dentist never listens when I tell him I haven't had enough laughing gas before giving me novacaine shots. I am extremely phobic about needles, and please don't tell me it doesn't hurt or that I can just close my eyes, because that doesn't work for me. So this time I would like to take some Xanax before I go in, but I want to make sure it won't interact badly with the laughing gas.

Some may find this amusing but it's serious. :) in a toothy wauy.

I was visiting my folks and yesterday saw my Dad cleaning my grandmother's dentures with my toothbrush ,which he had mistaken for an old replaceable one he thought no one used (it's very retro) Upon confronting him, he apologized and admitted he had been cleaning the dentures for 2 weeks (eww!). Now I am picky with things and really want this toothbrush, is there some way i can clean it with disinfectant solution or something?

or just get a new one? (the same one is hard to find).

i know this question has been asked before, but im getting kind of worried i have had these before, (i have braces, so yeah quite often actually) anyways this one started out normal size and got huge,it started at the inside of my lip close to my gums and now it is soo large it is all the way to the outside of my lip where you can see it even when my mouth is closed, it just keeps growing i cant eat, i can barely brush my teeth which is even more a necessity then usual because of the braces, i dont know what to do how can i make it STOP growing?

I am almost 12 years old.

Almost all my molars are still in, and 1 of those vampire looking teeth (sorry, don't know the name) is still in.

Kids in my school have all their baby teeth out, and braces in too.

My best friend lost her molars when she was 9!!

Is this normal or will I have to get them all pulled or something like that :(

When I was about 2 or 3, I lost my first tooth by accadent. I had fallen on some ice and i had my hands in my pockets, so i wasn't able to catch myself. But anyways, It didn't come in until all of my other adult teeth came in, why did it do that? I'm just curious.

I have far too many. Every time I go to the dentist, something I DON'T LIKE AT ALL Happens! Grrrrrrrr... Do you have any regrets?

Mine, for example: I was young - The dentist kept on persuading me that SHE takes out my tooth. I did not want. Now, there's a tooth pushed INTO my mouth and it bothers me because it gets in the way of my tongue........The next time, I had some cavities. Some shifty hands injects 2x into my inner cheeks on both sides. Probably 4 inches of needle. Years later, I feel the SCARRING of the needles!!! Now, it hurts like hell and whenever I open and close my mouth. Do I regret going to the dentist? Heck ya, but I regret NOT KNOWING what I was in for. But what more, I wish I could've taken care of myself more. Too late.

I use white strips and I have to use them twice a day, once in the morning, and once at night. At night I have to wear my retainer, it is the kind with the metal bar across the front. If I use my whitening strips, rinse, then put my retainer on, will I end up having a big line across my teeth?

I recently found out some people just get route-canals and they are done. My tooth only had a tiny cavity but severly bothered me with cold drinks. The x rays showed nothing wrong in the canal. Caps are exspensive, no fun to get, and not covered by my insurance. Neither dentist ever told me there was an alternative way, like just getting a permenent filling after a route- canal. The specialist automaticly put in a rough unfinished filling. This has happend to me several times. I am starting to think both dentists are working together to make some extra money? How can I get the truth out of my dentist if I truely need a cap or not? My insurance does not pay for second opinions or caps. Does anyone know about these things?
