N Oxide does not have side effects with pills like that. You will be perfectly safe.
BTW - I totally feel you! Needles are bad enough, but the dentist likes to poke you and twist that like he is stirring cream into coffee. OUCH!
They charge enough, you'd think they could give you a little boost with the gas.

I'm not sure that is a chance I'd want to take. I think I would inform the dentist of "any medications you are taking", but that might make him hold back the gas. When I was a kid, our dentist used to give us alot of gas, but I guess there must have been some accidents, because when I got older and went to a new dentist (in another state) They only gave me a little, and the stupid nurse wouldn't even let me shut my eyes and enjoy it. Every time I'd shut my eyes she'd ask me a question....I had to pay extra for that out of my pocket, and she ruined it! So I'm guessing it must be unsafe.

Try talking to your dentist or your doctor about it, they would probably be able to more accurately determine if there would be any negative side effects. Also, xanax might not interact badly with the laughing gas but might interact badly with other drugs you may be taking or your doctor may know of bad experiences other people have had with it.

Yes, you can take a little Xanax before. Dentist visits are hard on all but the sadio-masochistic. But I would recommend having a friend drop you off and pick you up. You will have conflicting emotions between the two.

You simply have to tell the dentist or some thing could seriously go wrong. If your dentist doesn't listen why not try finding a different one that will. No point in paying all that $$$ for a crap dentist.

Sweetheart - they are both tranquilizers of different types, so I would not recommend it. What I would strongly recommend is to find a dentist that can work within your preferences and sensitivities. Take care of yourself. Don't put yourself in the hands of people who are not willing to care for you in a way that makes you feel comfortable! (by doing whatever you need medically - not by giving you false reassurance that doesn't deal with your needs). You deserve it.

You should ask your dentist prior to going to your appointment. He should be aware of other meds you're taking before he anesthetizes you.

Tell him before he gases you. I'd be pissed as hell if one of my patients boozed it up before I anaesthetized them. You should just smoke a joint. I can guarantee you that grass and gas go well together.
