Dental - December 2006

I am going to the emergency dept in the hospital to see a dentist as i have never felt pain in my life like this before! i have a hole in my tooth and my gum is red and throbing.
The problem being i am terrified, i have a fear of injections. i have not been to the dentist scince i was 12 i am now 25 so you can tell how scared i am!
Also not too keen as it will be the NHS i have heard they are butchers?
What i am really wanting to know in all honesty is how sore is the injection? and what does it feel like?

This is a service offered in California, Washington and Texas. It is controversial but in the overall light of things, why shouldn't this be a service offered to people who have pets too frail to "go under anesthesia" or for just a simple routine teeth cleaning?

I was told that I would have lots of swellen and pain for a few days and would be able to eat solids in a few days also. So I'm still swollen in my jaw/ face and it hurts to talk sometimes and eat. So will the swellen go down anytime soon and I was told that my face would never be the same because of the broken bone in my jaw. So what should I do?

ok so i went to my dentest back home in c-bad,bout an hour and a half away, and had some teeth pulled. well, the so called 3rd toooth got insainly infected at first, nice green puss like gunk that was in the site around the site and around the 2nd tooth and 4th, accopanied by tons of pain. called the dr and was able to get some antibiotics for it and it cleared for the most part and the pain well it come and goes. i was brushing my teeth for bed a bit agou and the las of the green gunk came out of the socket. guess it was a failing atemt at good clot cause boy do i feel it now. i got on line and sure enough, dry socket. how ever there arnt any home remities that i can find, use clove oil for the pain., which i will. but im kinda creeped about all that bone and stuff being exposed for so long and my dr is out of town tillthe 2nd on holoday so im kinda screwed in that department. so can i do some thing to pretect and help the healing process like gause with antibiotic ointment?

use a tongue scraper daily..but still have bad breath. i notice that my teeth are getting longer or something and are getting spaces between them. i use to drink alot of pop a couple years back but now just cut down to a couple cans a week. Could it be gum disease or gingivitis? Also the top parts of my gums are like discolored..like grayish or something.please help. i work in retail and it sucks to have people back away from you because of ur bad breath!! i'm depressed!! i avoid my friends!! its ruining my life!!! HELP!!

Ive had braces for 6 years and im getting them off tomarrow at 8:45 AM, I'm wondering how long it will take them to get my braces off and put in a permanant retainer on my bottom teeth?

So i just got my braces after two and a half years, but there is a tiny gap in between my bottom front teeth. My finger nail can go in the gap and thats basically the size of it. But the problem is the way those two teeth are shaped. As you get to the bottom of the tooth it seems to get narrower, which makes the gap look worse like by the gums. The ortho put the perminant retainer on already but i go in in a couple of weeks. What can i do? i dont want to have braces on again im a junior in high school. Should i get them on again? : ( I heard i can get it filled but it won't look real. Any help would be great!

O and people say they cant really see it until i point it out but i dont feel comfortable with it. Like the other day i was talking to someone face to face and they asked if i have something stuck in my tooth. Its the darn gap it looks like a black thing is in btween my teeth.

I have to get 2 teeth pulled out from my top and possibly 2 more from the bottom to get braces and I'M SOOOOO PERTRIFIED!!! I don't wanna endure that pain. I was told in the consultation that my insurance can only cover 80% of my removal of my 4 wisdoms teeth. It will be $1,500 to remove my wisdoms and the insurance can only cover $1,200 according to them, the surgeon. And the rest $300 i have to pay.
I wanted to know if this is true with other surgeons if i was to go to other places.
Insurance doesnt cover the whole %100??
Is this true??

I have one all the way grown in and one coming in (painfully), and they're both on the bottom, and I've seen/felt evidence of them for a couple of years now. I have seen/felt nothing in the top. Could that mean I will not get them? I'm 18.

Got it taken out around 12 and is it okay to go without the antibiotic for one day? My mom didnt go get it with the prescription since she had no time and I was wondering if it wont do any harm? Also, they told me not to rinse it for 12 hours, but is it ok to drink something? or eat? What if the food or liquid touches it? its been 8 hours and it still hasnt stopped bleeding so about how long does it take? I know thats a lot of questions lol but thanks for your answers!

I just recently had my golden bridge work fall off of my bad tooth. Since then, and even more now I have been getting an awful medical weird taste in my mouth. Is this from the glue they used to keep the bridge on? It's making me sick!! I've been gargeling every ten minutes.

I'm just wondering because when I was younger I got two of my babay teehth (mollers) pulled out because I had really bad cavities in them. I just had some laughing gas though, and no pain killers and I was fine. It didn't even hurt at all and I was only 6. So what's all this huss and fuss about getting wisdom teeth pulled? Do they hurt more just because they're adult teeth? Do the roots go way deeper and that's why you need pain killers?
