How does a "full mouth debridement" work and how long does it take?

I have to undergo this treatment for my mild gum infection tomorrow. How does it work and how long does it take?

it takes about an hour. this is a deeper cleaning that removes bigger pieces of plaque that have hardened and require more time than just a polish. It's WORTH it!
