you should be ok without the antibiotic for one day but you need to take it as soon as possible to help prevent infection. try a few ice chips. let them melt in your mouth. you need the fluids so just take it slow and stay with water for a while. The bleeding just takes a while. it should slow down or stop soon.

It should have stopped bleeding several hours ago- most dentists/ oral surgeons give you extra gauze. did yours? if so, wash your hands with soap and water, roll up a piece of gauze put it on top of the gauze that's already there, and bite down- the bleeding should stop, or at least slow significantly, within about 10 minutes- don't pull the gauze off to check, just notice if it's soaking through or not- it shouldn't after that long. after the bleeding stops, wait another 15 minutes then you should be ok for small sips of water. wait until tomorrow to try food. And DO NOT USE STRAWS!!! this will suck out the blood clot. About the antibiotics... a clean, healthy human mouth is generally host to a few hundred different types of bacteria. Plus, it's warm, moist, and dark- perfect growing conditions for the little buggers. And, the open wound provides a direct route to your blood stream- they prescribe antibiotics after a surgery (yes, getting your wisdom teeth pulled is a surgery) to prevent infection not only at the site, but of your blood. An infection of the blood is called septicemia, and while it's rare, they protect you from it because IT CAN KILL YOU!!!!! Not to scare you, but I'd walk to the pharmacy and get the antibiotics myself if I had to. Or, at the very least, find out what time they open, and be standing there when they unlock the doors :) Good luck! :D

I'm 34 and had all four if my wisdom teeth pulled yesterday. I wasn't bad at all. The top two teeth came out in about 20 seconds each. The roots on my lower ones curved in toward each other so it took a little more work. You will feel pressure, that's all you should you feel. If you feel any other sensation let the dentist know. You will be given pain meds, you will need them. I was extremely sore yesterday, and I just laid around the house all day. My mouth is still a little sore today but it's tolerable. You won't feel like eating anything you have to chew for a couple days. I was referred to an oral surgeon originally to get these teeth removed, but I didn't like the idea of being put under either, and the cost is 3xs as much. I found a dentist that said she could pull them and everything went good. Drinking coffee is fine, don't take aspirin though. Anything that creates a suction in your mouth, drinking from a straw, smoking, spitting, isn't recomended for 72 hours after the procedure. Just follow the dentist instructions, enjoy the pain meds thay are going to give you, and stick to soft foods for a few days and you will be fine. Good luck!

I have had this before and when the tooth stops bleeding that is when you can eat or drink but i always waited 24hours the next day to eat.The antibiotics are really important cause that is what takes the pain out of your tooth and the swelling.Get it right away or you may wake up in a lot of pain. The antibiotic is better than any pain killer pill.It is so that you don;t get infection too.If you get infection in your tooth whole it will be 100times the pain.

Definitely sip on fluids, but don't use a straw.
You should have started the antibiotic as ordered, but nothing you can do about it now. Be sure and start them as soon as possible tomorrow.
Put a dry gauze over the area and clamp down on it to help stop the bleeding/oozing. Call the dentist in the morning if the drainage is still pretty red.

If you weren't infected at the point of extraction the anti biotic should be okay tomorrow. If you are still bleeding put a tea bag over the wound and press it into place. It will absorb blood and help stop the bleeding. If you wish to eat or drink make it light and keep it to the opposite side of the wound. You have been swallowing a lot of blood so you may feel a little nauseous.

If it's to late to go to the pharmacy there isn't any other choice. Get them as soon as it opens in the morning.
Have something cool, not cold and not hot to drink, just take sips.
Hot fluids will cause more bleeding
Are you using gauze pads and clamping down oon them in you mouth in that area, if not you should.
If you are taking ASA it works as a blood thinner, you should use a Tylenol product for pain instead.
Usually the bleeding should have stopped by now. If its just little spots on the gauze no problem, if lots you may want to be seen at a clinic tonight.
Be very careful not to brush that area with you tongue or toothbrush tonight and tomorrow.
Hope that helps
