I had my tooth filled about one month ago (about $260). Now the tooth hurts and he said I need a root canal and then a crown (about $2000). Should he know if I need a root canal when he first time checked on my tooth, or even when he opened up my tooth? Is it reasonable to ask for a refund? Thanks!

after being in some evil pain for about 3 weeks... i went to the dentist today and had my tooth ripped out. he gave me percoset for the pain (other teeth are hurting as well) the only problem is, the percosets arent touching the pain at all. my question was. is it safe to take 2 200mg ibuprophen tablets? i took one percoset about an hour ago. i remember the hospital giving me motrin & percosets when I had my daughter but cant remember how far apart they administered it. thanks for any help...as i am in a great deal of evil pain!!! :(

My dentist keeps badgering me to get this crown or that implant even though I keep telling him that I can't afford it. Then, he badgers me to start saving my money so I can get my first crown in one year, a second crown the second year, and so on. I have temporaries instead of crowns. They last two or three years. I tell him I'll just get another new temporary, if necessary. He says that's not good enough. I have debts I want to pay off before I get the crowns and implant he says I need. He says, "You're health is more important than paying off debts". I have to have my teeth cleaned every six months, which is when he starts badgering me again. He is such an excellent dentist, and I do not want to change to a different dentist. But, enough is enough! Why can't he understand that some of his patients are not rich like he is!?

I know its a silly question but the reason my fangs are so yellow in the first place is because I LOVE coffee and my diet-coke. I drink about a pot and a half of coffee a day. (over 8 to 12 hour period at work) No way can I cut out coffee for 24-48 hours after bleaching as recommended. I've heard the reason for no dark foods is because the teeth are porous after bleaching. Is there any way I can fill in the pores with something? A good coating of sealant maybe? lol. Seriously? I like to taste the coffee on my palette. Straws kill the sensation. I guess I'm a coffee-snob. Please help.

It seems like denstists are just trying to use their patients to help them pay for their mortgages and Porches.
I used to go to the dentist once or twice a year, and they supposedly found at least one cavity every time i showed up and proceeded to drill holes in my perfectly good teeth and fill them full of mercury. I never once saw a single cavity in any of my teeth, and never ever had a tooth ache. I have not been to a dentist in at least 15 years and magically, i don't have any cavities. I think fillings do more damage than good, especially when there aren't even any cavities in the teeth.

Hi, I had a dental crown done on my back tooth about a month and a half ago. After having the temp put on it felt fine, but since the permanent one has been cemented on it is bothering me more and more. It's sore and just feels very sensitive, especially if I chew on it. Is this normal after all this time? What can go wrong? I'm thinking now I should have just left the tooth alone and am scared. The dentist just seems puzzled as to why it would hurt and says to wait it out. Also I must add that the crown doesn't cover the entire tooth, but it comes approx. halfway down the tooth like a cap instead of covering. Is this normal????? (sorry for long question)

I got molluscum from my boyfriend, who is my first and only boyfriend, and I was told by the gynecologist that it should go away in about a month, and it went away but then i shaved and it came back, so ive stopped shaving again for a while and it's gone away mostly, but how do i know when it's gone for good? obviously if i got it from my boyfriend and its not visible on his body, it must be dormant under the skin or something... i can't find any info on any pages that explains it better... ive heard it can take up to 2 years and im getting frustrated. does anyone know about this?

I just got my separators today and in a week I get my braces.... the people at the orthodontist said that a few weeks after I get my braces they have to pull my tooth! I am not eager for that to come around. People have been through things like this and I want to know how bad tooth pullings hurt and how I can help the feel better.

I know all the soup, smoothies, shakes, etc. but can't think of anything like that that seems decent right now. Just got teeth removed and would like to find something more interesting than tomato soup.

I got braces back in March and was told that there is 60% chance I would not have to pull teeth. This was due to my using the technology Damon3. I had chosen this orthodontist because she had made this "promise."
However, now it has been 9 month, she tells me that I will have to pull out four teeth, my bicuspids to be exact. This is to provide for room because my bottom teeth are too crowded. But since there are no room, my lips has started to jut out a little. Therefore, it is to bring my teeth back in... so my profile isn't so weird or outward.
I apparently also have a slight bite problem, in that my upper teeth are obviously not 30% over my lower teeth.

I was just wondering, would it be good idea to pull my teeth? (I am relatively older-21)
I have heard from some people that if I pull my teeth it could mess up my whole jaw or that I could lose teeth easier when I get older. Plus I do not understand why I cannot just pull the bottom because that is where the crowding is. HELP
