So i just got my braces after two and a half years, but there is a tiny gap in between my bottom front teeth. My finger nail can go in the gap and thats basically the size of it. But the problem is the way those two teeth are shaped. As you get to the bottom of the tooth it seems to get narrower, which makes the gap look worse like by the gums. The ortho put the perminant retainer on already but i go in in a couple of weeks. What can i do? i dont want to have braces on again im a junior in high school. Should i get them on again? : ( I heard i can get it filled but it won't look real. Any help would be great!

O and people say they cant really see it until i point it out but i dont feel comfortable with it. Like the other day i was talking to someone face to face and they asked if i have something stuck in my tooth. Its the darn gap it looks like a black thing is in btween my teeth.

If the gap is at the gum level, getting braces on again wouldn't really help...but a good idea at this point could be to look into cosmetic bonding in that area...very simple process where they match the color of your tooth and then use the same material used in a "tooth colored filling"...that will take care of the problem...you can also talk to your orthodontist as well, but this is more a job for the general/cosmetic dentist.

next time you see your ortho make sure you point out the problem, and explain how it makes you feel. ask if you can have any procedure done, maybe tooth-shaving, or a cap, that would fill the gap. unless you let your ortho know about it, and how you feel about it, he/she will never know. if it is bothersome enough, give them a call and see if you can get in earlier

well you can get invislign which is like braces but its just plastic retainers that work like braces. i had them after i got my braces off to push the small gaps back together. ask your orthodonist about it maybe you can get those.
