My smile is very gummy. Normally, this isn't SO bad, but my two front teeth are slightly longer than the rest of my teeth--not as prominent as buck teeth, but still noticable. So, together, this makes me self-conscious about my smile. However, my teeth aren't crooked. Would braces fix these issues? If not, would something else? Thanks.

I found a black spot on the bottom of my tounge, it is a perfect circle, and my best description is that it looks like a doughnut, you can see the pink in the middle. it does not hurt, and I feel fine otherwise. I am a smoker, and I guess I am worried it could be something serious such as cancer? Can anybody help??

Just a few weeks ago, I went to the dentist for my 6-month checkup, and they found a cavity in between two of my back teeth. They said I'd need to make an appointment to get it filled, and so I did--the appointment is for February. I didn't think anything was too bad, because the dentist didn't seem TOO alarmed by it, just said I needed to get it filled, and plus it wasn't even hurting me.

However, last night, a pretty big piece of that tooth broke off, and though I couldn't see the cavity before (it was in between my teeth), I DEFINITELY can now. It still doesn't hurt, though--so should I try to reschedule my appointment to a closer time, or can I wait until early February? Also, since it left a pretty big hole, can a filling still fix it, or will I need to go a more drastic route like a root canal? I don't think the nerve is exposed, however, because like I said, I'm experiencing no pain at all. I'm just a little worried about my suddenly crumbling tooth here, is all.:) Thanks!

i just got my braces off today. my mom said she signed a paper for the discontinuation. i have like a lil gap and my mom's saying that my teeth might go back to the way it used to. but the ortho asked me if i wanted to take my braces off already..she said that thats just the way my teeth are. my mom keeps saying she only took my braces off cuz i said so. so my question is do u only sign discontinuation if u asked to discontinue having braces or do u always have to sign when u get ur braces taken off? and i cant talk that well with my retainers now..is that really normal..will i get used to it or no? and how many times do i have to brush the retainers? thanks..

i damaged my front teeth agers ago, my teeth look okay on the eye, but don't feel good since the damage.

anyway i'm paying private once the new year is over with and possibly looking at 2 dental implants, or maybe 1 implant and a procera crown.

just wondering though, my teeth are pretty straight but i have a slight gap in my front tooth, could the dentist easy make the teeth bigger should i decide to get an implant (or crown) to cover the gap?

i don't want to bother with 'bonding' as you need to keep getting that done every few years, but i'm unsure whether to keep the gap or join them together.

its never caused me any trouble or bothered me before, but its kinda gutting paying possibley £3,000 for 2 implants - (all my savings i might add and i'm currently not working) :O

and i'm thinking to myself maybe i should get it done and i can say ive got something for my money.

whats your views? and is it possible?

How long would it take a 10mg valium tablet to have an effect? Would this dose have any effect; I took a 2mg tab a while ago as a test and it did nothing.
I ask as I have a fallen out filling, cavity & exposed nerve (its agony) and am going to hospital tomorrow, and wondering, if the dentist wants to extract it will I have time to take the valium, and will it lessen my anxiety ( i have an anxiety disorder) at all??
Thanks.

I have three wisdom teeth that do not require them to be removed, but when I brush, my jaw isn't big enough to reach, should I try something besides a toothbush and floss?

I got braces September 1 by way of insurance. They constantly break. The brackets get loose. I only have five brackets on my top teeth and no wire connecting to the back rings, so essentially my top braces are fake and not doing a thing to correct my teeth. My top teeth are already straight! Yesterday, at my orthodontist visit, he saw I had no wire connecting to the rings on either side and di nothing about it. He acted normal and just replaced the wire in front without connecting it to anything...can I ask to have the top one removed and just keep on with the bottom braces? He said my braces will only take half a year. I'm tired of these, and they keep busting. You can also see the glue where the brackets snapped off and he did nothing about it...and on the brackets that have been stuck to my teeth, it looks like he sloppily applied the glue all over the tooth. My friend says it's the most botched operation of braces they had every heard of.

I'm having a lot of luck with jell-o, and i can sort of let hull-less popcorn dissolve in my mouth. My teeth are still very tender... chewing anything hard definately hurts, and anything stringy is a problem. I had some falaffel and that was good but it was, as expected, difficult becuase of chewing.

Any ideas? Thanks!

The metal in it was fine, i don't understand. Could i have a shoddy dentist ? does thooth now need to be rips out ? or just filled along side ? If this could practice, or it happens that stress cracks show after filling has been put in ? I did bite down test with Robber glove washing dishs type, it hurts right away to bite down on it ? Sound like to me a crack in it ?which rule out any fillings over filled, to close to nerve..ect.....? I can see inside to mouth a bit of a crack along tooth if i see correctly? can i compare x -rays original to x-ray now ? to see what happend ? is that rude to asks ? Or just get it fixed, that it ? mostly, how would they fix a crack tooth now. ?
