How long would it take a 10mg valium tablet to have an effect? Would this dose have any effect; I took a 2mg tab a while ago as a test and it did nothing.
I ask as I have a fallen out filling, cavity & exposed nerve (its agony) and am going to hospital tomorrow, and wondering, if the dentist wants to extract it will I have time to take the valium, and will it lessen my anxiety ( i have an anxiety disorder) at all??

sorry to hear your in so much pain. i took valium 2 months ago for dental work. I dont recall the mg, but i took the pill an hour before my appt and i was feeling really relaxed by the time i reached the dentist chair. hope everything goes well fo you tomorrow.

I'm probably too late now for advise only I was given Valium for a third op on my jaw it did help to relax me I sympathise with you I am awaiting major surgery and am in pain constantly even while taking lots of pills for it am on maximum amount only it just takes the edge of it I have days when I think about it and my stomach churns and cold weather makes it worse hope your surgery goes well they are very nice and understanding if you are on the dental unit happy new year hope you go into it pain free good luck

One hour. Poor you, I have a loose tooth and my dentist recently gave me penicillin for 5 days and now I am in agony and have to go to dentist next Tuesday.

When I prescribe Valium, I prescribe that it should be taken one hour prior to the appointment. With 10 mg, you should have someone drive you to and from the visit.

10 ml will work if you dont take it regular and it should start within 20/30 minutes.tell the hospital that you have taken 1 for precautionary measures

it should take about 20 to 30 mins and it will lessen your anxiety completely. poor you
